Old gag

He is an old gag

too old to go away

too fraught with rage

in a cage, left to rot

driven by nothing

belonging to nothing

his peers, his offspring

long gone, suffering keeps

him at bay, this long day

is far from the end, there is

more to come, the old man’s

got more to say and spew

dying is what saves us

from turning insane

this world is far too ridiculous

to understand, and more so

for crinkly, narrow shoulders

and old men.
